I didnt put rape in there because thats more like our second favorite sport and not a past time.

This is what kids do when they are out and drunk? Parents defending their children, blind to the obvious truth. Of course your kid didnt do it, so there were phantom hands grabbing at those poor women? Then to actually blame a woman for consuming a drink and kissing her husband? That makes her a whore and an acceptable target?

Seriously, what the fuck is this? Bihar?

Anyone goes around doing anything they feel like with women and we all seem to be ok with it, otherwise how do you explain the level to which things have come. I think people really need to wake up and start thinking about the kind of legacy they are going to leave their kids. I know what you are thinking, i am not like this, i dont do any of this stuff. You dont have to but the moment you sit around and let others get away with it. You let them win.

Me. I just know, that if any of this stuff happens to me or mine, there will be blood. Nuff Said.

Now.

Cricket.

That gentleman’s game, controlled by the talentless, played by the greedy watched by the jingoistic idiots. I watched the match it was atrocious, the ICC was rightly forced to think about their process and umpiring controls. However, i am appalled by the way the Harbhajan-Symonds situations has been handled by the Aussies and by the Indians.

Seriously, Symonds really had to go out and goad Harbhajan into saying something, was it Monkey? we don’t know that, might just have been an attempt at a mindf**k but to go crying to the umpire and their collective mother the match refree, just goes to show how strong and dignified the Bhajan Bunny Senor Ponting really is. What a load of crap, i have heard worse things on the stump mic and i dont recall any complaints. I think the Aussies got rattled. Now they have all opened themselves to taunts, so they should ask for empty stadiums because they wont live this down in a hurry.

Now, the Indians (my favorite team) wow, what a load of bullshit. Did the comment monkey, if said meant anything other than being a racist taunt towards the obvious mixed parentage of Symonds. It was a disgusting comment, especially since we Indians have a propensity to analyze and elaborate on anyones color, skin, caste and religion.

How many times have we not called all south Indians a Madrasi, i still hear in movies and general parlance calling a white person a firang (what is that term if not a call on color) dont we call people Bhangees as a derogatory term? Wasn’t Symonds taunted as a monkey in Delhi? Dont we call African or African Americans Negroes, Kallus, Kalias, Niggers? Is this really news to us?

I think all the money we are making seems to have gone to our head. Doing well is one thing but to forget that we were once the targets of this very same racism ought to ensure we never put it forth to anyone. I would say we are being persecuted even now (Malaysia, Middle East) for being poor and Indian.

However we continue to use these terms every day and we use them offensively. We are a hollow, shallow, regressive bunch of hypocrites and to defend that with the obvious, one dimensional, our heroes are simply GREAT and GOD LIKE jingoistic patriotism has been and always will be our downfall.

We are sheep, led by incompetent but greedy wolves to whatever end suites them the most (read politicians)

You know what happens to sheep?

They get slaughtered.

Dear,Friend
Bollywood is the official term used for Mumbai-based Hindi-language film industry in India.

It is now officially an english word after it has been inducted in the Oxford English

Dictionary[1].Bollywood is often incorrectly used to refer to the whole of Indian cinema; it is

only a part of the Indian film industry.

Interesting post Gaurav. Well written too.

If only, you could had curbed your obvious disgust and anger about India and Indians in general, the points in your article would not have been lost in very crucial points you were making. Direction less anger can be quite distracting for a reader atleast!

Gaurav says:

Sneha,

cant help it mate, stuff like this makes me go a little nuts. however, turned out well didnt it. all with us supporting Harbhajan and him going and bitch slapping Sreesanth.

ghoshneha says:

Gaurav,

Firstly, it is Neha. Not Sneha.

And why would support Harbhajan slapping Sreesanth? Because you find something comical in it? Its absolutely disgraceful if a sportsmen acts like a ape towards his fellow players! And why play if you cant accept defeat?

Gaurav says:

Neha,

sorry, my dyslexia kicked in there for a second.

my point was we went all out and supported Harbhajan when it was against Symonds because at the face of it we are a jingoistic nation with a history of not questioning our own actions and that of our ‘leaders’

Now the same kind of behavior has blown up in our face with Sreesanthslapgate and there is nought that can be done.

I don’t support Harbhajans behavior at all. I dint when he pulled the stunt in Australia and i don’t know. We are fast turning into a country that is beginning to get a taste of power and has no idea how to handle it.
